Breathe London mindfulness course
Over the course of our six-week program participants learn a number of key skills that allow them to stand back from their emotions and to experience more emotional and mental freedom. This freedom allows us to observe our thoughts and emotions without getting caught up in the internal dramas they produce. We develop the ability to accept ourselves as we are, without “beating ourselves up” for being imperfect.
Each session has a key theme, which is explored in the workshop through experiential exercises. In addition to the class work, participants are expected to spend time every day working on focus and awareness exercises.
The course involves active participation in mindfulness exercises and discussions. Every week there are handouts summarising the key points that have been covered.
Each week we practice a series of techniques to help us focus our attention. In addition we explore a different aspect of what it means to be mindful and how a mindful practice helps us develop kindness and compassion for others and ourselves.
The course runs 6.30pm to 9.00pm each Wednesday evening
Session 1 - 26th April - building a model of mindfulness and practice of mindfulness techniques
Session 2 - 3rd May - understanding and overcoming autopilot thinking
Session 3 - 10th May - exploring our emotions and developing greater emotional intelligence through mindfulness
Session 4 - 17th May - deepening the mind and body connection
Session 5- 24th May - developing kindness and compassion
Session 6 - l31st May - letting things be, learning to let go, understanding our heuristic biases, developing humility and improving how we communicate.
The full course costs £250. The early bird rate is £210 until 31st March 2017

Your coach - Andy Roberts
Andy Roberts set up Breathe London in 2005 . The Breathe base is in London but he now lives in Townsville and runs coaching sessions around Australia and the UK. He started his career as an economist and chartered accountant and up until 2003 worked in Corporate Finance for KPMG.
In 2006 he was among the first group to attain a Masters degree in Applied Positive Psychology outside of the US. He is an accredited Emotional Intelligence coach (The MSCEIT model) and has taught thousands of classes, one to one sessions and workshops in the UK and Australia. Since 2003 he has also studied in India to become a yoga teacher and spent thousands of hours learning meditation and mindfulness techniques. Over the last three years he has run the Breathe mindfulness course fifteen times around Australia and in London.
In Australia he lectures in mindfulness at James Cook University to the medical faculty and is also working with PwC running a 10-month employee engagement program. He also works with the Australian Institute of Maritime Sciences introducing emotional intelligence training to their team in Queensland.
